Alex Watson, of Virginia Beach, VA, is a seasoned and passionate social worker with over two decades of experience in micro social work. Alex is serving as both a care manager and also as Director of Professional Development for Indigo Care Management. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Carolina and a Master of Social Work from Boston University. Throughout her career, Alex has been an active change agent in her community, working alongside individuals and families experiencing homelessness, brain injuries, disabilities, and mental health challenges. Dedicated to person-centered work, Alex empowers individuals toward meaningful purpose, self-determination, and value. She finds immense joy in seeing people reach their truest potential and accomplish their goals and dreams. Advocacy and improving the quality of life for others are at the core of her professional interests.
In addition to her extensive direct service experience, Alex has served as a Social Work Field Instructor, fostering growth and development in future social work leaders. Currently, she volunteers as a board member for the Brain Injury Association of Virginia, contributing to their development, finance, and Executive Director search committees. Alex’s passion for enhancing human well-being and her commitment to the helping profession drive her continuous learning and community involvement. Alex’s consistent kindness, prompt communication, skills in long term planning, high quality questions, thorough investigation, and thoughtful approach to care management and to professional development for the Indigo Care Management team make her a great asset to the team.
